The images on this site are from old postcards of Richmond in a private
collection. (Any copyrights belong to the publishers of the cards and no
claim is made to them by this web site.)
Deltiology is the hobby of postcard collecting. Postcards became very
popular around the turn of the last century. Most of the images on this
site date from 1900 to about 1930, with most being printed in the first decade
of the 1900s. In addition, some images are actual photographs from
stereoviews, which date from the late 1800s.
Additional views of Richmond can be found on a special collection at Virginia
Commonwealth University's library site called "Rarely Seen Richmond", accessible
